OneLeap

I am co-founder of OneLeap, a social enterprise which connects people starting off in their careers and businesses with more established individuals who can help them develop opportunities. It does so while generating money for great charities. I started the company together with my brother, Damien. OneLeap's mission is to make connections smarter and fairer, so that people get through not because of where they come from or who they know - but because they are committed and passionate.

Books

Twenty Chickens for a Saddle, my first book, is a memoir of my family's life in Botswana set against the AIDS epidemic. It was first published in 2008, by Penguin Press, in the US, Bloomsbury, in the UK and Commonwealth, Penguin, in Canada, De Bezige Bij, in the Netherlands, and Guanda in Italy. I'm working on my second book about a group of maximum security prisoners in South Africa who have adopted AIDS orphans. The men, most imprisoned for murder or manslaughter, have transformed the lives of the destitute children they support, and in doing so have begun transforming their own lives. Recently, Mothers for All has also started a project in the prison.

Mothers for All

Mothers for All is a non-profit organisation that supports the women in Botswana and South Africa who are caring for children orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV and AIDS. The trust's primary focus is teaching income-generation and basic business skills to the orphans' caregivers. Please visit the site to learn more about our projects, to see the beautiful paper beaded jewellery we make, and to read more about the extraordinary women in the program.

Access to Medicine Index

One out of three people lacks access to essential affordable drugs or vaccines. Increasing access to medicines stands to save and improve millions of lives each year. The Access to Medicine Index, created by the Access to Medicine Foundation and Innovest Strategic Value Advisers, examines the efforts of pharmaceutical companies in improving access, and seeks to encourage them as well as other stakeholders to do more. Robyn is an ambassador for the ATM Foundation.
